Jamie Pugh Overcomes | Britain's Got Talent

I had a lovely Saturday evening in with my children last night. We watched a popular TV program called "Britain's got talent."
It's one of those programs where they tour Great Britain looking for talent acts. The winner of the competition gets to perform at the "Royal variety show" in the presence of the Queen of England.

I often see great personal goals overcome in my work however I must admit that I too was tearful with the massive challenge that was faced and indeed overcome by 37 yr old Jamie Pugh, warehouse worker by day and pizza delivery man by night. Jamie described himself as "a simple bloke" from the valleys, a very ordinary man with an ordinary dream, to be able to sing live in front of an audience.

What was not so ordinary, is that Jamie Pugh has ' stage fright'. Too many off us we take for granted standing in front of an audience but it gave Jamie 3 sleepless nights before his audition. Before he asked for the cue to his music you could actually see Jamie physically shaking on stage.

With tremendous anxiety, Jamie Pugh stood in front of a crowd of 3000 and sung an absolute beautiful rendition of the West End classic "Bring him home" from Les Miserables... I could feel the tears welling as I listed. I cried, not because the words of the song were so beautifully sung but because I knew what it was like to face your biggest fear and to overcome it.

At the end of the piece Simon stared at Jamie with a warm smile and said: “I think I know how important the last three minutes were to the rest of your life. People like you are why we come to Wales every year, because we like to find special, special talent"

Walking off stage Jamie was asked how he felt but the shows presenters 'Ant and Dec'
"just for this brief moment I feel complete" he says.

Jamie Pugh will be encouraging others along their own personal journeys ..

Hopefully helpful.
